Oriental / Area Rug Cleaning & Repairs

We are a Certified Oriental Rug Care Speicalist through the Association of Rug Care Specialist. If you want to ensure the proper care of your rugs, then a certified speicalist should care for them. We
hand clean Oriental rugs such as Persian, Indian, Chinese, Afghan, and
so many more. In our years of service, we have handled textiles weaved
in various parts of the world, from Turkey and Morocco to Portugal and
Spain, as well as the many countries in between. Our certified rug
specialists treat each rug with special attention and the cleaning
process is customized for each particular type of fiber, whether
natural or synthetic, such as wool, cotton, jute, silk, sisal, polyester, nylon, acrylic and more.

We carefully inspect each rug prior to cleaning in order to identify any
apparent special conditions that may need to be addressed. We will then
provide you with a detailed estimate and work authorization request.
Once you have given us written authorization and approved the estimate, we then tag the rug and bring it to our facility for cleaning and/  or  repairs. We pick up and redeliver your rugs at no cost to you if you are located in Hernando county. We charge a service fee if you are outside our service area.

We first inspect each rug upon arrival to our plant and document this process with a recorded video. Each rug is identified ( where it was woven ),being able to ID a rug is critical to proper cleaning and repairs, not all rug cleaners have the experience or knowledge of rugs to be able to ID them. Knowing what you are working on is important to providing proper care.

        dye bleed test
We next test for dye bleed, if the rug releases dye, we apply a dye lock to stop this and lock the dyes into the fiber so the rug can safely be cleaned.

Next, we dust the rug with compressed air to remove the dry particulars that
have accumulated. This step is very important before any water enters the rug.

We clean the fringe before the rug goes into the wash pit.

The submersion pit is filled with filtered soft water which
eliminates the stiff feel to your rug. Filtered soft water removes the
calcium, magnesium, and iron deposits that are left in your rug from using unfiltered water. These deposit on your rug create a stiff feel. Our process will return a soft, fluffy rug to your home.

Each rug that goes through the
submersion cleaning process is cleaned and sanitized on both side with Microban Clean Carpet Sanitizer which contains antimicrobial agents to reduce and
control the growth of odor causing bacteria and fungi and odor counteractants that neutralize unpleasant malodors. Routine applications produce cleaner, fresher rugs for extended life,
then they are completely rinsed. We rinse with and air/water system that
thoroughly flushes each rug. We use only soft filtered water to clean with.    Microban Carpet Sanitizer is certified Wool-Safe.

The rug is then rolled up and placed into our Centri-Maxx centrifuge to spin out the excess water.
This is a very fast procedure and extremely safe as the
        carpet is not folded or
stretched. Proper wringing dramatically reduces drying time and helps retain the vivid colors of the carpet.

This is where we apply the Fabric Protector , Teflon advance Fabric Protector, which is included in the cleaning price. We can also apply MicroSeal at an additonal fee, if you prefer. We have a controlled drying environment that allows for speed & efficiency in protecting your rugs in process. The rugs do not come out of the drying room until we have used a moisture detector on them to be certain they are 100% dry, wool will hold 30% of its weight in moisture and still feel dry to the touch.

From the drying room it goes to the inspection table, then it is vacuumed and rolled up for delivery.

Never have your rugs cleaned in your home unless circumstances will not allow your rug to be brought into the rug plant. In home cleaning does not remove the dry soils and leaves soap residue behind to attract more soil. Fringe can not be cleaned and mildew may form due to inadequate drying.
